Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge (08/2011)

The Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge stretches across 20.5 miles between Melbourne Beach and Wabasso Beach along Florida's east coast. The refuge was established in 1991 and was named after the late Dr. Archie Carr, Jr., in honor of his extraordinary contribution to sea turtle conservation. The Refuge is a direct result of Dr. Carr bringing attention to the world's declining turtle populations due to over-exploitation and loss of safe habitat.

This is a beautiful, pristine beach

During May, June and July sea turtles
come ashore and lay eggs. They eggs
hatch about 60 days later.

Temple of Sinawava - ZION NATIONAL PARK (05/2011)

This is a magnificent stroll for about a mile or so down the Virgin River in Zion National Park. The hike takes you to the Narrows, which, unfortunately, were closed because the river was too high and the current was too swift.

ZION NATIONAL PARK [again!] (05/2011)

Zion is a beautiful National Park. These are just a few of the many trails I hiked in the few days I was here. Every place you go in the park is prettier than the place before!
